Now that the spring semester is over, I have some feelings about the teaching methods used at Lamar University. In my opinion most of the teachers just use the powerpoints that are provided to them from the textbook. Not only that they make them available to the students. I appreciate them for giving us extra resources but when the teachers are just reading the power points word for word, it makes me have multiple feelings about the class. These feelings are:
- I have a chronic case of boredom
- I shouldn't be paying $3,000 a semester for a powerpoint to teach me
- There is no sense of urgency to go to class
- Immediate sleepiness during class
- Consistent day dreaming
What's funny is these teachers have the nerve to get mad if we text or whatever during their class. IF YOU MADE IT INTERESTING YOU WOULDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM. So if you're a teacher and you are reading this, please put in some kind of participation or include something that the students can relate to into your lecture.
